100 plots up for grabs in New Town this December

The state plans to start off the process to sell 100 residential plots in New Town as passed by the state cabinet from the first week of December.
Hidco officials said that a follow-up meeting was held regarding operationalization of the cabinet decision to allot the plots, ranging from 2.5 cottah to 5 cottah, in Action Area IIB on the land opposite Eco Park. Out of the 100 plots, 75 will be allotted by lottery and the rest through e-auction. These 25 plots, of HIG category , will be slightly larger and close to wider roads. However, there will be no chairman’s quota or special quota.
The first week of December has been targeted as the date for launching the scheme and the proposed last date of application is end of next January . The application process for the first time will be entirely done online.The authorities are trying to come up with a simple method of filling up an online application form, using net banking for depositing mo ney and uploading a brochu re for downloading. A help desk will be opened at Hid co Bhavan for those who can face problems in filling the online applications.
Officials said the starting price of the 25 HIG plots will be intimated in the e-auction opening web page. One plot will be auctioned per day .
The remaining 75 plots to be allotted through lottery will be of both MIG and HIG categories. Officials said that some plots will be for individuals, while others will be for co-operatives. All the plots will be allotted on a lease for 99 years. The authorities have also planned to put up 100 signboards on the plots for easy identification by the applicants.
