As majority of investors in Mihan-SEZ remain non-starters, a proposal has been mooted to come up with a transfer policy for the companies which have taken up land in the project but not started operations.
Under the plan a company can transfer its land in Mihan to a different player. Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) will be levying a charge on such deals. The charges will range from 10% to 30% of the difference between the rate at which land was allotted originally and the current price charged by MADC. The levy charged by MADC will wary on the level of development done on the site said a source.
